C & C number 3! The Easy Peasy Circle Scarf

So walking around JoAnn Fabrics with my Momma and my choosing-to-be-a-pain-in-my-backside nugget, I came across (for a second time) this great gray and yellow silky knit fabric that I LOVE and was going to purchase for this tutorial... buuuuuut then I rounded the corner to the flannel isle and saw a FANTASTIC sign advertising snugly  wugly, warm and fuzzy flannels for only 2.99 per yard!! Sign me up chickadees! While I was concentrating on ignoring my nugget's adamant requests for Toy Story "fagric" I found these precious prints that I just COULDN'T leave behind. I bought a yard of each (and a yard of some cutie pie jungle animals to make some pj's for the nugget). Later that evening, after the nugget was in bed, as that is when I do 98 % of my crafting, I hopped on to Cotton & Curls to begin my third tutorial in my quest to sew my life away: the Circle Scarf. I happened to be just in time for Florida's one out of five winter days (yeah, you probably know that this silly sunshine state leaves no sound reason to own winter garb.) I will one day live in Seattle (GLORIOUS place, I'm a little obsessed after spending a week there in 2011) where my collection of scarves will be necessary :)

Anyhow...

The supplies... here is where I realized that I am ridiculous and terrible at buying fabric... if you notice on C & C's tutorial, the measurements to cut your fabric are 30" by 60". Well, apparel fabric isn't made at 60" width, or maybe it is somewhere but not at JoAnn's, and aside from that I for some unknown reason have it in my head that a single yard is sufficient for all projects... so then as I was getting ready to begin this project I said to my Mom "oh I'm so retarded! I'm supposed to buy 2 yards so I can get these measurements!" Well lesson learned... anyway the first scarf turned out fine, it's just short and can't be double wrapped but it's still cute and cozy :)

Don't you just love those little birds??

So here are my bikes :D With this one, my Mom suggested I cut the fabric in half and sew it together to get the 30" by 60"

So I did and attached the ends together and got this fantastic long panel .. could have made a curtain... hmmm?? Another day...

Double wrapped and cute as heck :)

By the way, I hate taking pictures of myself... any photographers in the central Florida area? I'll do your DIY projects for you if you'll take my pictures ;)

Well I LOVE my new scarves, and I even got to wear one today on a sister/little one's outing... Once Upon a Child an Chick-Fil-A, could there be a better time? Anyhow, next C & C project... shortening pants keeping the original hem... I'm really excited too because I have a great pair of pants that I have been meaning to hem up to fit my 5'2" lack of height :) Stay tuned!
