So walking around JoAnn Fabrics with my Momma and my choosing-to-be-a-pain-in-my-backside nugget, I came across (for a second time) this great gray and yellow silky knit fabric that I LOVE and was going to purchase for this tutorial... buuuuuut then I rounded the corner to the flannel isle and saw a FANTASTIC sign advertising snugly wugly, warm and fuzzy flannels for only 2.99 per yard!! Sign me up chickadees! While I was concentrating on ignoring my nugget's adamant requests for Toy Story "fagric" I found these precious prints that I just COULDN'T leave behind. I bought a yard of each (and a yard of some cutie pie jungle animals to make some pj's for the nugget). Later that evening, after the nugget was in bed, as that is when I do 98 % of my crafting, I hopped on to Cotton & Curls to begin my third tutorial in my quest to sew my life away: the Circle Scarf. I happened to be just in time for Florida's one out of five winter days (yeah, you probably know that this silly sunshine state leaves no sound reason to own winter garb.) I will one day live in Seattle (GLORIOUS place, I'm a little obsessed after spending a week there in 2011) where my collection of scarves will be necessary :)

C & C Number 2: The Silly Frilly Apron
Well friends, my next project in the "sewing my way through Cotton and Curls" saga was an apron (click the link and scroll to the bottom and you'll find her tutorial). Now, I love to cook, a lot actually, I almost majored in culinary arts that's how much I love to be in the kitchen. However, I've never taken to wearing aprons, I've never seen the point, I'm not sure why. I really should take to wearing them to be quite honest; when I work with tomatoes, I almost always seem to be wearing white and I'll tell you one thing... a turmeric/chili powder/cumin/diced tomato concoction (otherwise known as Chana Masala-one of my favorite things to eat!) does not easily come out of white...

Nothing Like a Trip to Walmart...
Well friends, it's complete :) My nugget and I made a trip to Walmart for the elastic I needed... came home with not only elastic, but Sesame Street Edition Chutes & Ladders, bananas, gnocchi, and a really, really dumb Cars 2 Toy in which the teensy tiny cars get put into a plastic gumball with which to roll down a car ramp the length of your middle finger... thank God it was on sale for just a buck and a half otherwise I'd have laughed in my poor nuggets face at the request of this ridiculous waste of money...

On the Side...
Well hey there kids :) so I feel a bit of a slacker because my first C & C project is still on the back burner, at least until this weekend when I mosey myself to the nearest JoAnn's to get some more elastic... however, I have not been neglecting my sewing machine!

Traveling Back in Time to June 22, 2010...
Have you seen Julie & Julia? When I watch this film, I get all dreamy eyed and imagine myself as a literary genius... I so wish I could use words as eloquently as they are used in that film! I'm not so much jealous of the food of the movie, though I do LOVE to cook (and eat!) and I do very much admire Julia Child.. however I'm more of a 30 minutes or less kind of girl in the kitchen... but, oh! how the words flow in that film!
