Anyhow, my first project from C & C is complete and it's gorgeous... I was a tad undecided on how to finish the waist band but chose to leave it exposed because at this particular moment in time I only own black belts and a rope belt so at least if I'm wearing something that does *not* require either of these two belt choices, I still sort of have a belt... well we'll see if I leave it this way?
Getting personal with my fabric, which I purchased at JoAnn's... it was on sale for 40% off, plus I flashed my handy dandy student ID and got an additional 10 % off (I also got some super duper cute old school Mickey Mouse fabric with which I made my nugget some pj's). I think the total cost of this skirt is about 9 bucks... about 7 bucks for the fabric and about 2 bucks for the elastic... 9 bucks, not bad kids!
Now if only I could get the great ladies of JoAnn's to cut my fabric in a straight line? Thankfully, this was being used for a circle skirt so that terribly cut corner is merely scrap fabric now...
Aw isn't it great? So simple and flouncy... it's a polyester knit fabric, and what a great color huh?? After I bought it I decided it'd be great if I could find gold sequin elastic but alas, none to be found within my unemployed price range so white it is!
Look, I'm a dork okay?! I'm making this face for no good reason at all, looking at the television which was now playing Cars... The only reason I can give you for being retarded in my photos from now and posts to come is that I hate having my picture taken... but good news, I will work on a better back drop for you!
So there you have it... C & C knit midi circle skirt complete... it was fairly easy to follow her tutorial, I've made skirts before but never a circle skirt so I admit I had to read the tutorial a couple times before it clicked in my head... and elastic, well I've done it before too but this was my first time using this method... so my seam ripper came in handy ;) But yep, pretty easy, and now it's done and I love it... now... sushi anyone??
